  • School Closing Information

The East Greenwich School Department has instituted the following procedures in order to sustain the safety of our children in the event that schools close due to weather conditions. Your cooperation in familiarizing yourself with these procedures is greatly appreciated.

You may also listen for the announcements on television channels 6, 10 and 12.

    •
      • If school is to be canceled for the day, or if the opening of school is to be delayed, this announcement can be heard on these stations beginning after 6:00 a.m.
      • Whenever school is canceled:

          3. the closing time of school on those days will be the same as usual.

In the event that school has to be dismissed early, for emergencies, the time will be reported as soon as possible over the stations noted. Also, all extra-curricular activities are canceled whenever schools are dismissed early for emergency reasons.

      •
        1. Whenever East Greenwich schools are in session, students who attend out-of-town schools will follow the programs of their own schools. Their bus schedules will be adjusted accordingly.
